Terms of Use

Effective October 27, 2026

The short version: RuseCheck points out warning signs. It can be wrong, and it can't guarantee that a message is safe. Always confirm money is in your own bank account before you hand over an item, and never share codes or passwords.

ABOUT THESE TERMS

These terms apply when you use rusecheck.ca, operated by CN Universal Corp ("we", "us"). By using RuseCheck, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

WHAT RUSECHECK DOES

RuseCheck reviews messages and screenshots you provide and tells you whether they show signs of common scams. It uses a set of rules and an AI model. Results are general information to help you make your own decision.

NO GUARANTEE

NOT AFFILIATED

RuseCheck is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Interac, Kijiji, Facebook, Meta, Craigslist, Canada Post, any bank, or any other company it mentions. Names are used only to describe scams that imitate them.

USING RUSECHECK FAIRLY

You agree not to:

We may limit or block access to protect the service.

YOUR CONTENT

You keep any rights you have in what you submit. You allow us to process it to give you a result and, if you choose to rate a result and share the message, to improve RuseCheck, as described in our Privacy Policy. Only share what you need checked, and crop out details that aren't needed.

AVAILABILITY

RuseCheck is provided as is and may change, pause or stop at any time, including the AI review.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or damage that results from relying on a RuseCheck result, including money lost to fraud. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.

CHANGES AND CONTACT

We may update these terms and will change the date at the top when we do. Questions: hello@rusecheck.ca.
